This variety of Basmati has grown at an altitude of 400-600m in Doon Valley. Dehradooni Basmati is soft, aromatic and small grained which elongates significantly after cooking. Dehradooni Basmati rice is exclusively produced and export from Uttarakhand, India.

Dehradun’s Basmati Rice is one of the world’s most recognized and best-loved basmati Rice, that famous for its flavor, fragrance, and elongation. Dehradun Basmati is a long slender, aromatic grain that almost doubles in length when cooked. May be over the years, the native type of this basmati rice has become extinct due to the introduction of different hybrid ones which have taken over the traditionally rich Dehradooni Basmati Rice.

There are two varieties of Dehradooni Basmati Rice,
- Type 3
- Traditional Dehradooni
Storage:
They can be stored indefinitely because they have indefinite shelf life. They must be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place where they will get added protection against bugs, dust, or other contaminants.

Dehradooni Basmati rice is a long-grain rice from India, considered to be one of the best-quality white rice. It has a distinctive aroma and, when cooked, each grain should remain separate, giving a light, fluffy result. It is the perfect accompaniment to Indian curries and is used in biryanis and pilaf dishes.
